Training . . . it's what AJA does best!
Since 1981, AJA has strived to offer top-of-the-line
professional jail training. Our annual training calendar offers over 25 comprehensive regional training seminars specifically designed to meet the needs of jail personnel.
AJA's Annual Training Conference & Jail Expo features over 45 different workshops and brings together more than 2,200 jail practitioners from around the country to train, network, and meet on issues facing our nation's jails.
Fort Hays State University (FHSU) and AJA have
joined together to offer our members high quality, high access
online distance education undergraduate degree programs, graduate
programs, and certificate options in the fields of Justice
Studies and Security Management.
To help agencies provide their own in-house
training, AJA offers several in-service training tools designed
to address specific topics. AJA's Jail Operations Bulletins
(JOBs) & JOB Videos, and the Write-it-Right Quarterly (WIRQ)
are designed to assist all jail personnel with the day-to-day
issues that impact jail operations. Jail Managers Bulletins
(JMBs) emphasize techniques and strategies to assist supervisors
and managers.
AJA's new Online Training Institute is a continuation of our commitment to help agencies train their staff in a cost-effective, easy-to-use format. As we progress into the future, AJA will continue to strive to offer the latest, most pertinent training for individuals who work in and run our nation's jails.
