COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Doing more with less; the South Carolina Department of Corrections is setting records for education success with fewer teachers and less money. The Palmetto Unified School District was created in 1981 to educate inmates. This year, more than 2,400 vocation certificates were awarded to inmates across the state in areas such as carpentry, small engine repair and welding.
