A Tennessee man facing the death penalty in the 2008 killing of an Atlantic Beach pawn shop owner will appear in court on today, according to authorities. Jeffrey Ray Jennings, 29, of Greeneville, Tenn., is scheduled to appear in court today in Conway. Jennings is charged with murder in the 2008 shooting death of Thomas Lane Holcombe, the 37-year-old co-owner of Thee Pawn Shoppe on U.S. 17 in Atlantic Beach. Jennings has been held in the S.C. Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty in October 2009 to voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of a Taylors man on July 23, 2008.
