DECATUR - One day before Darrious Johnson was scheduled to be freed from prison, after serving 10½ months for a 2009 mob action conviction, a warrant was issued for his arrest for a rape he was linked to by DNA evidence. Johnson, 19, appeared in Macon County Circuit Court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing on the sexual assault, which allegedly occurred about 2 a.m. Sept. 12, 2009. His attack on a mother and son, for which he was convicted of mob action, occurred nine days later. Johnson, who pleaded not guilty to the current charge, is facing one count of criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony punishable by four to 15 years in prison. Read More. |
