Water service restored to Shawnee County Jail

TOPEKA (KSNT) – At 8:48 a.m. Thursday morning a large water main break on the South side of the Shawnee County Department of Corrections property interrupted water and sewer service to the Adult Detention and Juvenile Detention facilities. The main break also resulted in a temporary loss of power to the facilities.

According to a release the facilities have all gone into lock down, and the department was in Incident Command status until service was restored early Thursday evening.
