QUINCY, Illinois — An Adams County Jail corrections officer is recovering from injuries after what officials say was an attempted escape by three prisoners. Adams County Sheriff Brent Fischer told the Quincy Herald-Whig on Wednesday that an officer was hit by a prisoner with a homemade weapon Sunday. He says the officer was hit twice and taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The officer was released and is on paid leave. Read More. |
