Inmate sentenced to 20 years for stabbing guard |

A Butts County judge this week sentenced an inmate to 20 years in prison for repeatedly stabbing a prison guard. According to prosecutors, Ricky Jacktavian Mosley, 27, was an inmate at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson when he stabbed the guard in the shoulder Dec. 18, 2011. Assistant Towaliga Circuit District Attorney James Moss said after a two-day trial, a jury convicted Mosley of aggravated assault Aug. 26 and he was sentenced to 20 years in prison by Superior Court Judge Thomas Wilson. According to Department of Corrections records, Mosley was in prison serving a 10-year sentence on an escape charge. Read More. |
