| Site selection process for a new detention center begins |

Lewis and Clark County, with its lead consultant, Slate Architecture of Helena, is looking at between 10 and 15 possible sites for a new detention center. The sites have yet to be ranked or evaluated and the list can still be added to, county officials said. The current detention center is overcrowded and excess inmates are sent to jails in other counties costing Lewis and Clark County $65 a day. Read More. |
