MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A federal judge has set a February hearing in state inmates' request to change the way razor blades are distributed in Alabama prisons. Five inmates requested a preliminary injunction. They say Alabama allows inmates with mental illness to have essentially unlimited access to razor blades. Lawyers said one inmate cut his wrists five times over a period of seven months. They said another cut herself four times in one month, including twice in suicide watch. Read More. |
