JACKSON, MI – The Michigan Department of Corrections says it is ready and able to deal with any issues that may arise from the imprisonment of a man who weighed 625 pounds when he called in a bomb threat. It took two years for the courts and the county jail to determine how to conclude the case against Jeffery Klein, who admitted he called in a bomb threat at the Cedar Springs Mobile Estates on Aug. 25, 2012. But Klein repeatedly failed to appear for court hearings, citing a litany of health struggles, and later a claim that he couldn't leave his home, where he claimed to be a virtual prisoner.
