185 jobs being lost at Youngstown private prison |

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - We now know how many jobs are being lost in Youngstown as a result of a decision by the U.S. Bureau of Prisons to not renew the current contract with the Corrections Corporation of America. A March 24 letter from CCA to Youngstown Mayor John McNally says that 185 employees will be out of a job when the current CCA contract with the BOP ends at midnight May 30. The letter, which was also submitted to the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services under the federally mandated Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, says the job loss is permanent and employees will have no bumping rights.
