DELANO, Calif. - UPDATE (11:45pm): The injured correctional officer has been released from the hospital, according to Lt. Tom Mattson, spokesman for North Kern State Prison. The suspect is still at-large at this hour. A perimeter remains in place from Highway 43 east on West Cecil Way to Casey Avenue. A North Kern State Prison correctional officer is recovering after being struck by gunfire from outside the prison Monday evening. The shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to Lt.
