Attorney: County looks into possible violations after inmate’s escape

9:20 p.m. update: An internal investigation at Travis County sheriff’s office is looking into whether a deputy committed a protocol violation while guarding Dacious “Corey” Parker, who escaped from a hospital on Saturday.

Austin attorney Brad Heilman said Wednesday night that he is representing the unidentified Travis County deputy.

Heilman said the deputy was using the bathroom in Parker’s hospital room when Parker, who was in a wheelchair at the time, escaped. His client in no way aided Parker get away, Heilman said.

Parker was arrested Wednesday evening in North Houston, U.S. Marshals Service Deputy Hector Gomez confirmed.

    Inmate escape can never be pinned on the management of the place a sit is just an unfortunate event. You need to learn this here now and see how this blame game can ruin it.
