Missing work release inmate considered an escapee |

WATERLOO | A second Waterloo Work Release inmate did not return to the facility in a matter of days, and is considered an escapee. On Sunday night, the Iowa Department of Corrections placed Darius T. Caston, 23, on escape notice. In 2010, when he was 18, Caston pleaded guilty to three counts each of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and willful injury. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison and has to serve at least five years before he is eligible for parole because the offenses involved firearms.
