A Pahrump woman serving 10 to 25 years in prison for second-degree murder died Sunday at a Las Vegas hospital, the corrections department announced Monday. Joan Corbyons, 78, died Sunday at Valley Hospital Medical Center, the Nevada Department of Corrections wrote in a release. Corbyons was 68 when she was arrested in 2005 on charges of killing her daughter and several family pets at her family's home on Fox Run Court, the Pahrump Valley Times reported in December of that year. Police in 2005 said Corbyons poured flammable liquid throughout the house and tried to set it on fire, the newspaper reported. Read More. |
