| Counselor assaulted by inmate at Northeast Correctional Complex in Mountain City |

MOUNTAIN CITY, TN (WJHL) – A counselor at Northeast Correctional Complex in Mountain City was taken for medical treatment Tuesday morning after an alleged assault by an inmate. Tennessee Department of Corrections spokesman Robert Reburn said a “medium custody” inmate and the counselor were involved in what was described as a “verbal exchange” prior to the inmate hitting the counselor.
