AUBURN, Wash. -- A Department of Corrections officer and a shooting suspect were both wounded in a gun battle outside an Auburn apartment complex Tuesday afternoon. An ATF task force was at the complex in the 3400 block of 'I' Street NE just before 3 p.m. to serve a warrant for gun crimes and confronted their suspect in the parking lot near his car, according to ATF spokesperson Meredith Davis. That's when the man then pulled out a gun and opened fire at the officers, spurring a gun battle between the man and multiple officers, according to Cmdr. Steve Stocker with Auburn Police.
