Theft convict who escaped from Elmore County jail caught in Kentucky |

An inmate who escaped from the Elmore County Correctional Facility has been recaptured in Kentucky. Justin Daniel Caldwell, 27, was apprehended during a traffic stop in Hardin County, Kentucky at 11 a.m. on Monday. It is unclear whether or not an accomplice helped him, Alabama Department of Corrections said. Caldwell escaped from the jail on Friday at 1:53 a.m., authorities said. He is serving an eight-year sentence for first-degree theft of property. He was sentenced in Baldwin County in April 2014. Read More. |
