| Menard CC seeking bids on fitness equipment |

Menard Correctional Center inmates may soon be getting some fresh iron. The facility has requested to purchase new fitness equipment for seven of its offender yards, including curl bars, dumbbells and training bumpers. "Menard Correctional Center is looking to purchase replacement weights for all offender yards at the facility," said Illinois Department of Corrections spokeswoman Nicole Wilson. "The equipment will be purchased with funds from the Inmate Benefit Fund, which is not funded with taxpayer dollars. "The inmate benefit fund is funded with monies from the inmate commissary and vending machines in the inmate visiting rooms." Read More. |
