A 20-year-old man already in jail on a shooting charge is now accused in a slaying that occurred in March. Norman Johnson, also known as Norman Gaines, was charged Tuesday in Tulsa County District Court with first-degree murder, shooting with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent and a gang-related offense. The charges resulted from a lengthy investigation into the death of 31-year-old Durrell Collins, who was shot multiple times while parking his car in the 1500 block of East Seminole Street on March 20. More than one shooter is believed to have been involved. The investigation focused on gang violence and led police to Johnson. Homicide Sgt. Dave Walker said enough evidence was obtained Tuesday to proceed with the charges, though he did not release details about what connected him to the shooting. Read More. |
