| Description: | • What attendees will learn: Attendees will be afforded the opportunity to acquire innovative strategies, employed by correctional agencies across the country, for managing the explosive growth of the mentally ill, substance abuse, and sex offender populations within the adult male, adult female and juvenile populations in jails and prisons. Furthermore, attendees will obtain an increased knowledge of the continuity of care from confinement to community-based supervision with the intention of preventing rapid decompensation and re-incarceration. • Workshops/Breakouts: Facility based sex offender treatment programs, Community Based Sex Offender Treatment Programs, Managing Seriously Mentally Ill Offenders in Segregated Housing, Therapeutic Communities for Substance Abusers, Civil Commitment for Sex Offenders, Methamphetamine Units, Public and Private Partnerships, (more to be confirmed shortly) • Additional breakouts and workshops will be announced as the conference approaches. • CEU’s will be awarded to professionals in attendance.
