IS YOUR AGENCY READY FOR PREA?

Preventing Staff Sexual Misconduct Against Offenders

National Curriculum & Training Institute, Inc. (NCTI) in partnership with the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) presents Preventing Staff Sexual Misconduct Against Offenders training. The training addresses the recommendations as set in the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards, and provides agencies with prevention and identification strategies to reduce incidences of staff sexual misconduct.

The training content addresses issues of legal and safety concern for all levels of law enforcement and criminal justice. Through the use of an accredited training and established curriculum, administrators will be able to document training content delivered to staff, respond positively to failure to train claims, and be prepared for potential staff disciplinary actions. Staff will learn ways to identify and avoid potential misconduct with offenders.

The training includes:

  • PREA Training and Education Standards and Requirements
  • Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Identification
  • Warning Signs
  • Inappropriate Use of Power and Consent
  • Sexualized Work Environment
  • Staff and Offender Grooming Techniques
  • Laws and Liability

NCTI will deliver the training at your agency, eliminating staff travel expenses. Your agency has the option of having staff members certified to facilitate the training through NCTI’s Facilitator Certification Training. Certified facilitators have the ability to deliver NCTI’s Preventing Staff Sexual Misconduct Against Offenders training to all officers, staff, vendors and volunteers in their agency.
