| Description: | *This position is currently offering a $5,000 bonus (payable after 12 months of employment) for candidates who are not certified/licensed!* Indian Creek Correctional Center houses 1,060 male inmates and operates one of the largest Therapeutic Community Treatment Programs in the nation. Location: Chesapeake, VA – Indian Creek Correctional Center Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours. Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM OR 7:45 AM-4:45 PM with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break. Pay rate begins at $16.82 per hour ($35,000 annually) for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in the Human Services field and/or equivalent professional experience. Pay rate begins at $19.23-$21.63 per hour ($40,000-$45,000 annually) for candidates with a Master's degree in the Human Services field. Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent license/certification are eligible for a salary up to a maximum of $50,000. (*These candidates will not be eligible for the $5000 bonus.) The Counselor is responsible for: Serving as a role model and engineer of a social learning treatment milieu. The provision of counseling services to include group programming and meetings, individual counseling, case management services, and clinical documentation. Working closely with Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to ensure quality services and promote a healing environment where people with substance use disorders can learn to live in recovery as returning citizens. Qualifications: Formal education in Human Services field and/or applicable lived experience is preferred. Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certification and/or related certifications is highly preferred.
