| Description: | WEXFORD HEALTH SOURCES, INC. is a health care company that provides specialized services for the medical diagnosis and treatment of physical illnesses, chemical dependencies, and psychiatric problems in the correctional health care facilities. Full time Medical Director/Physician. Diagnose patients (inmates ) physical and mental illnesses, disorders and injuries, and prescribes medications and treatment to promote or restore good health. Examine patients to determine the nature of the disorder or illness, and record the patient's medical information. Order, perform and analyses laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic images and procedures Provide overall care for patients and prescribe and administer treatments, medications and other remedial measures. Formulate written individual treatment plans for committed persons with medical problems, which include directions to Health Care and other personnel regarding their roles in the care and supervision of these parties. Conduct intake and annual physical examinations on committed persons as provided for by Department of Corrections procedures or as dictated by good medical practice. Provide minor surgical treatment at the institution as deemed medically appropriate to include suturing for minor lacerations. Document all health care contacts in the committed person s health care record in the problem oriented medical records format. Perform all administrative, training, QA, clinical, and record keeping as it pertains to the duties of the Physician as requested by Medical Director or their designee. |
