| Description: | Shift Supervisor - FLORENCE, AZSUMMARYThe Shift Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the administrative and operational security activities in the correctional facility. Directly supervises officers assigned to the shift and effectively manages staff during assigned shift to maintain adequate security coverage. Supervises the count of inmates/residents and mandates that all key control procedures are followed.DUTIES• Reporting any unusual event relative to facility security to the SC and SIEA immediately.• Supervise all Detention Officers on each shift throughout the facility and vicinity, which includes processing/transportation support. • Ensure that a periodic visual check of segregation cells, detention processing holding room and shower facilities is performed. • Conducting visual post checks and completing post check forms. • Reporting performance deficiencies noted among those officers supervised to the SC or Transport Coordinator. • Conducting muster, ensuring all pertinent information is passed on to relief and that a personnel inspection is performed. • Monitoring for detainee movement during counts. • Informing various post officers and dispatching assistance as necessary when violations of the "no movement" directive are noted. REQUIREMENTSA minimum of I year experience as a detention officer and 2 years successful experience in field supervision (civilian law enforcement, commercial or industrial guard services, or security service supervisory positions).OR The 2 year requirement may be satisfied by completion of a career development program that includes work related experience, training, or college credits at a level of achievement equivalent to the basic requirement. Associates Degree in Criminal Justice or Associates Degree in Corrections may substitute for two year supervisory experience. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; Computer skills including proficiency in various Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. |
