| Description: | PROGRAM SERVICES HEALTH SERVICES ARIZONA STATE PRISON COMPLEX-TUCSON 10000 S. WILMONT TUCSON, ARIZONA 85734 THESE POSITIONS ARE OPEN UNTIL FILLED. ***MUST PROVIDE LICENSE NUMBER ON RESUME*** Provides nursing care and health care services to persons in a correctional setting; administers medication and treatment as prescribed by health care providers; conducts sick calls; provides follow-up on new admissions; interviews and examines inmates on sick call; evaluates, assesses, refers and confers with doctor/mid-level care provider concerning routine and emergency treatment; works within the Standards of the Arizona Nurse Practice Act; and performs other duties appropriate to the assignment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSAs): KNOWLEDGE: Of nursing techniques, methods and procedures. SKILL: In all aspects of professional nursing. ABILITY: To work in a prison environment; observe security precautions at all times; assume responsibility for security of hospital area; work cooperatively with correctional custody, treatment, and medical staffs; keep records and write reports. SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR: Must possess an Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact State license with multistate privileges. Applicant must provide license number on resume and a copy of the license at time of interview. *SALARY: The salary will be established based on full years of experience. Applicants who are job offered shall complete the State of Arizona Application for Employment form to document applicable experience and determine placement in salary matrix. All information submitted is subject to verification. Positions in this classification participate in the Correctional Officer Retirement Plan (CORP). Employment is contingent on the successful applicant passing a background investigation, medical physical examination, and a pre-employment drug test. Employees seeking a transfer or voluntary grade decrease should refer to Department Order 504, Section 504.06 and Director's Instruction 181 for instructions and requirements.
