| Description: | NE STATE PENITENTIARY/SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT DEPARTMENT / THIS IS A DISCRETIONARY POSITION Provide professional level, evidence-based psychological services; complete psychological evaluations and mental status evaluations upon request from sources including the Parole Board. Render diagnostic impressions and appropriate treatment recommendations; work with psychiatric consultants regarding diagnostic and medication issues. Perform crisis intervention. Assist in developing, supervising, and evaluating programs for inmates with co-occurring disorders; assist in the supervision and training of mental health professionals. Provide staff training on mental health issues. Assist in the development and analysis of outcome measures, maintain and complete paperwork according to departmental, American Correctional Association [ACA], and American Psychological Association standards. Work collaboratively with substance abuse staff in assessment and treatment of inmates. REQUIREMENTS: Licensed or license-eligible psychologist in Nebraska.; completion of APA approved clinical internship. Management, supervisory, forensic experience; experience working with co-occurring disorders; working with a diverse population; experience working on multi-disciplinary treatment teams; experience working in corrections or with substance abuse treatment.
