| Description: | SUMMARY Under limited supervision, this professional posititon is responsible to perform clerical duties for the Medical Department, and to administer medication to clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Maintain client and medical charts; ensuring that all documents are filed in appropriate sections and in a timely manner. Conduct and document audits of clinical/medical charts. Administer medication to clients as assigned and document in the Medical Administration Record. Monitor First Aid Kits on the units and refill supplies as needed. Assists Medical Clerk with scheduling and tracking all clients off campus medical appointments. Assist with transporting clients to medical appointments off campus. Perform all other duties as assigned. Complete in-service training to meet the requirements for continued personal and professional self-development. Participate in staff meetings by sharing observations and recommendations regarding the administrative office, facilities and staff relations to identify and resolve problems and funtion as a unified team. Maintain confidentiality obtained through job duties regarding employees, vendors, residents, outsside agencies, etc., so that sensitive information is only given on a "need to know basis." Comply with all Cornell Companies policies and work rules as described in the company handbook, and respond positively to directives from managers and supervisors in a cooperative spirit. Comply with company safety rules; take appropriate corrective action to ensure work is performed in a safe manner and without injury to self or others. Education/Experiance High Svhool Diploma or equivalent plus 2 years general clerical experiance; medical experiance preferred. Current Colorado QMAP certification a MUST. CNA license preferred but not required. Knowledge of Medical Terminology and DSM IV a plus. Knowledge of medication management and administration. Familiar with general office procedures and computer operations. Knowledge of current policies and procedures regarding HIPPA, Confidentiality, Medical Files, and Chart Audits. Proficient in the use of Microsoft office software. 60 college credit hours or one year working with "at risk" youth. Skills and Abilities Able to multi-task, prioritze and function safely under stress; be flexable in response to unexpected changes in work volume and staffing patterns; communicate effectively with internal and external customers; express thoughts logically in both written and verbal form;Able to preform physical duties to include standing for long periods of time, frequent bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Physical Limitations Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and grasping. Occasional stooping, bending, gross and fine manual dexterity; lift and carry up to approxamentely 25 lbs. Must be able to physically restrain distressed adolescents if required. Must be able to visually residents and staff; hear, understand, and interpret resident and employee behavior; read, understand, and interpret written instruction and correspondence; communicat verbally and in writing. Work Enviroment Adolescent Treatment Center setting. Office areas are quite, will illuminated and airconditioned. Outside tempratures can reach the high nineties during summer season while winter temperatures are often at or below freezing. High winds can blow dirt and dust around. Job Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age. Personal vehicle availible for company use. Valid Colorado driver's license and Colorado insurance. Must pass background check and drug test. |
