| Description: | This position creates and administers IPS training programs to meet law enforcement training needs and community enrichment. Work includes maintaining active communication with various levels of college management and personnel. Criminal Justice personnel and the general public for the dissemination of information, program development and to coordinate schedules, facilities, and equipment availability. This position also monitors Trust Fund expenditures and files. Performs related work duties as directed. Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree required. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered. Minimum Experience/Training: Four or more years of directly related experience in the criminal justice field as a training officer, or a supervisor, or in a training academy setting and/or experience as a law enforcement/correctional officer preferred. Professional certifications: Florida Department of Law Enforcement general instructor certificate preferred. High Liability Instructor certification desired. Minimum Certification: Professional certifications: Florida Department of Law Enforcement general instructor certificate preferred. High Liability Instructor certification desired. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Florida Statutes Chapter 943, Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission rules, oral and written skills, research skills, knowledge of current police procedures and issues. • Strong knowledge, understanding and skills in area of responsibility; including an understanding of concepts and principles of related areas and functions. • Ability to manage own work to job and performance standards.
