Description: POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Psychologist is a primary member of the Site Management and Treatment Teams who is primarily responsible for assessing student mental health needs, supervising the activities of the staff and student interns who are providing family therapy and transitional services. The Clinical Psychologist monitors the progress of the students and their families as they complete the family therapy component of the program and insures that there is an aftercare plan for each student. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Supervises the provision of and provides family therapy and transition services for the students and their families. 2. Designs the family therapy and transitions services for the site. 3. Responsible for the implementation and oversight of the weekly Psycho-educational, Multi-family program. 4. Contributes to individual services plans and progress reports for all students. Provides clinical supervision for the Masters Level Family Therapists delivering family therapy to the students and families. 5. Oversees and provides clinical supervision for the pre-doctoral psychology interns. 6. Assures the continuity of care for students by collaborating with the Psychiatrist and outside providers making appropriate mental health referrals which include providing the necessary information and documentation for transition to a student’s home community. 7. Monitors, evaluates and corrects the daily performance of all program staff. Provides on-going clinical supervision to staff regarding treatment. 8. Provides suicide and other risk assessments as needed. 9. Ensures that family services are provided in accordance with the Service Plan along with the documentation of these services. 10. Ensures that the documentation for services is completed on the day the services are rendered and that all case files meet all licensing standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) 2. Current State Licensure as a Psychologist. 3. Training in the provision of family therapy. 4. Three years’ experience in the provision of family therapy services with a clear understanding of strategic and structural models of family therapy. 5. Five years of clinical and administrative experience in a hospital, residential or juvenile correctional setting preferred.
