Description: The Laundry Lead is responsible for supervising laundry and/or uniform operations to ensure a constant supply of clean linens and/or uniforms for the detention facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Lead, train and supervise laundry and/or uniform team members to ensure a constant supply of clean linens and/or uniforms for the detention facility • Oversee the ordering and distribution of linens and/or uniforms (if applicable) • Perform all stages of linen and or uniform processing including, but not limited to, collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading and unloading, ironing, folding, storing and delivering, operating washing and drying equipment and cleaning laundry equipment and the laundry area, as needed • Assign work including, but not limited to, assigning machinery, equipment and scheduled work areas • Monitor linen and/or uniform quality, inventory, damaged linen and production reports to ensure reordering, rewashing and repairs in a timely manner • Oversee stenciling detention facility name on uniforms (if applicable) • Oversee distribution of hygiene and shaving supplies (if applicable) • Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or GED • Minimum of 1 year experience as a laundry worker or similar industry experience • U.S. citizen and must have resided in the United States of America for three out of the last five years • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills • Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record) • Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance • Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests • Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements • At least 21 years of age Preferred • Supervisory experience • Prior detention/correctional facility or military experience • Bilingual We are a Federal Contractor and comply with the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA).
