| Description: | Are you looking for an opportunity to make a social impact? Have an opportunity to expand your career in an unique environment? MTC Medical is currently hiring RN's for our Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility. Key Responsibilities include: Under direction of the HSA, supervising nurse and professional service providers and in accordance with approved standing orders, assess condition of and prescribe treatment for inmates reporting to sick call. Help with provider line; prepare examining room and equipment. Operate pill call, administer medication and document as required by applicable policies and procedures. To include push and or wheel pill cart on facility campus. Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies or equipment as required. Perform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for treatment orders. Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses. Comply with all applicable pharmacy laws, especially those covering controlled substances. Perform work on an on-call basis, as required. Conduct chart review; review status of inmates with serious health problems for completion of all necessary intervention and treatment. Degree in nursing, current, valid nursing license for the state of Texas or compact state. Preferred skills include: peak flow nebulizer, phlebotomy, IV and EKG. Knowledge, training, and/or continuing education courses in chronic illnesses preferred. Current CPR certification required. Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management. |
