| Description: | Reports to Associate Warden, Operations. Directly supervise the Recreation Assistant. Responsible for the provision of structured, well-rounded recreation programming in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, Management & Training Corporation (MTC) directives. Essential Functions: 1. Supervise the instruction of detainees in recreation activities. 2. Oversee the preparation of a variety of well-planned recreation activities including individual and team sports, special interest programs and others. 3. Manage the development and distribution of weekly, monthly and annual recreational plans and activities schedules. 4. Control use of equipment and supplies; make minor repairs and recommend purchases. 5. Provide information regarding special and scheduled activities. 6. Maintain accurate inventory of supplies and recreational equipment. 7. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. 8 Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management . High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year supervisory experience required. Valid driver's license in the State of Texas or New Mexico with and acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
