Description: Full-time or Part-time Psychiatrist St. Paul, MN Telemedicine and On-site Client Consultations Enjoy working in a team atmosphere with an experienced clinical and medical staff dedicated to ongoing patient treatment. This position offers the flexibility of teleconferencing from St. Paul with travel at least one day a week to work with clients in person. The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) has an exciting opportunity for a psychiatrist interested in the fields of forensic psychology and sex offender treatment. By integrating clinical, vocational, recreation, education, and security functions into effective multidisciplinary teams, MSOP focuses their wide array of program activities throughout all phases of treatment toward the ultimate goal of reintegration. The MSOP promotes a strength based approach to sex offender treatment for individuals committed to the program by the courts as sexual psychopathic personalities or sexually dangerous persons, addressing areas such as relapse prevention, and client access to medical, psychiatric, vocational, educational, and recreational services. Job Description: This position offers a range of experiences in evaluating psychiatric conditions and needs of a civilly committed population of sex offenders. It provides the opportunity to collaborate with the clinical team to provide inpatient care through medication, group/individual therapy and cognitive behavioral approaches. General responsibilities include initial psychiatric assessments and ongoing medication management in conjunction with the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner as well as clinical team consultation.
