| Description: | CHOOSE TO CHANGE LIVES AVALON CORPUS CHRISTI TRANSITIONAL CENTER IS NOW HIRING A TREATMENT COUNSELOR, MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (P/T) AND CORRECTIONAL MONITOR I! Treatment Counselor The Treatment Counselor implements a wide range of alcohol and drug use programs and provides case management and counseling services to inmates/residents assigned to the treatment program(s). Requirements: • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or a closely related field is required. • One year of experience in the mental health or substance use counseling field is required. • Must possess TX LCDC or TX LPC licensure. Maintenance Technician (P/T) The Maintenance Technician, Community Corrections, P/T installs, maintains and repairs the facility's building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles and grounds. This is a part-time position that regularly works less than 30 hours per week. Requirements: • High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required. • Six months of related experience and/or training in general maintenance or construction is required. • Skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning, and/or mechanics preferred. HVAC certification is preferred. • A valid driver's license is required. • Must be at least 18 years of age. Correctional Monitor I The Correctional Monitor is responsible for the supervision of the facility population including but not limited to: safety, security and facility sanitation. Provides a safe environment for the facility, staff, and residents. Provides exceptional customer service and complies with company policies and procedures. Requirements: • High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required. • Demonstrate ability to complete pre-service and other training programs as required. • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing and apply problem solving techniques to complex issues. Must be available to work any hours, any shift. • A valid driver's license is required. • Must be at least 21 years of age.
