Description: | The Health Services Administrator is responsible for leading, directing, and controlling all ODOC Health Service activities through subordinate managers and assuring compliance with federal and state constitution and laws, Oregon Administrative Rules and standards established by accrediting agencies. Insuring: quality of client care and treatment, patient safety, appropriate utilization of public funds through financial management and strategic planning; providing for organizational health and employee safety and productivity; assuring reliability of all reporting and documenting requirements to ODOC and the Department; maintaining the medical records of patients, and developing priorities and programs to meet the needs of persons requiring medical and psychiatric treatment. The Health Services Administrator provides, leadership, supervision and management of administrative and operational business needs in the fourteen institutions across the state. Consults with and acts on behalf of the Medical Director, Chief Clinical Officer and the Business Operations Administrator to ensure that the institutions maintain a focus on the inmates and their needs and the highest quality of care. Ensures that issues affecting the institutions are addressed as they occur and provides the leadership to establish a culture of accountability throughout the institutions. Provides leadership to ensure supervision and management of Dental Services, Risk Management, Pharmacy, Fiscal Services, and Medical Health Records. Provides the leadership and direction for the management of Health Services operations including budget, fiscal and accounting operations; purchasing, contract services, quality improvement and materials management. Works directly with state legislators, their staff and the Oregon Department of Justice to ensures that services and treatment are administered in a competent and professional manner. |
