Description: | Johnson County Government in Olathe, Kansas is seeking applicants for a Criminal Justice Coordinator. This position serves as the coordinator of the County's Criminal Justice Advisory Council and coordinates the improvement of criminal justice services by working with county criminal justice and human service partners, analysis of data, and by seeking appropriate resources. The main purpose of this position is to reduce the need for detention placements for both juvenile and adult offenders and make the most effective use of resources while balancing public safety with helping offenders to become productive citizens. The ideal candidate will exhibit outstanding leadership, communication, and business skills. A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Research and Analysis, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Research and Analysis, or a related field is preferred. Seven years of progressively responsible experience in a variety of criminal justice areas, to include criminal justice program design, development and administration, adult and/or juvenile corrections, and other rehabilitative programs for new and/or repeat offenders is required. Three years of experience in the preparation and development of a variety of statistical analyses, metrics and reports related to criminal justice programs is required. Three years of experience in the presentation of report findings and conclusions to a wide variety of audiences including government administrators, elected officials, and the public, using persuasion and logic to present data and facts in a clear and understandable way is also required.
