Description: Performs responsible, professional work in managing the Evaluations and Case Management Units of the Community Corrections Department. A successful candidate in this position must possess a thorough knowledge of Community Corrections programs in the State of Colorado, including Division of Criminal Justice Standards, current legislation, and funding and program development. Plans, directs, and supervises the work and personnel of assigned Division and programs. Possesses a full understanding of professional and technical assistance in the planning, implementation, and assessment of Community Corrections Programs. The following statements are illustrative of the duties and responsibilities of the job. The organization retains the right to modify or change the duties and responsibilities of the job at any time. Directs and administers the operations, facilities, programs, and personnel assigned to the Community Corrections Programs. Directs, manages, coordinates, and administers all aspects of Community Corrections programs including: development and implementation of program goals, objectives, and policies; identify program needs, and monitor budget and make associated recommendations. Develops and implements of goals and policies relating to Evaluations and Case Management programs. Monitors performance to ensure programs are functioning at an effective level and conducts long and short term program planning as needed. Coordinates program activities with other Community Corrections Departments, County agencies, and the community. May represent the Department on boards, committees, and organizations to enhance communications and develop partnerships with other agencies and the community. Acts as a resource or expert in program area providing technical assistance to management and program staff (both in-house and community based programs) regarding program outcome evaluations, community development needs, program development, customer service, and marketing. Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job. Receives general guidance from the Community Corrections Director. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Project management methods and techniques including work breakdown structure, scheduling, resource balancing, and managing project critical path. Requirements and analysis techniques; project management, report, and data extract tools and in the use of their Department/Division applications. Current principles and practices of correctional processes, practices, and procedures. Organization, administration, budgeting, purchasing, and personnel management. State and Federal laws and regulations and County resolutions. Principles, practices, and objectives as related to outcome-based program evaluation, program development, administration, and continuous improvement processes in publicly funded and non-profit health and human services programs. Effective analytical reports preparation. Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to include conducting effective interviewing and public speaking to groups of varied interests and backgrounds. Plan, assign, and review the work of subordinates and other personnel. Confront problems in a timely manner and make appropriate and independent as well as group decisions. Perform duties independently without close supervision. Qualifications: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Criminal Justice Disciplines, Business or Public Administration, or a related field required. Master's Degree preferred. Seven (7) years of experience in Colorado community corrections operations, including a minimum of two (2) years experience in a managerial role required. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License. Maintain continuing education hours annually or as required. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications.
