| Description: | Master’s level clinicians for grant program issued by Homeland Security. The New Freedoms program has been designed to counter violence and reduce recidivism rates in the Massachusetts counties of Worcester, Middlesex, and Essex. Clinicians will work with inmates releasing to these communities from the Maximum Security Prison Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, MA. The targeted population will have an extensive history of misconduct and violent offenses while incarcerated and may have propensity toward gang affiliation. Clinicians will be responsible for creating individual treatment plans identifying problem areas that promote the client’s tendency toward outward displays of aggression and violence and work to develop pro-social coping skills and resilience. Clinicians will also lead CBT skill based group sessions that foster an environment that allows pro-social interactions with the client’s peers. All Clinicians will work with the target population prior to their release and in the community. Travel will therefore be required to Spectrum facilities within the serviced counties. A strong candidate for this position will possess strong boundaries and clinical skills; will have experience working with resistant clients and familiarity with personality disorders. Hours will vary to meet the community needs of the program. Position requires a community caseload and travel among the Massachusetts Counties of Middlesex, Essex, and Worcester. Hours may vary to meet the needs of community clients. Salary is $51,000/yr Qualifications: A Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling Psychology or other related field is required. LMHC is preferred. |
