| Description: | The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Health Services Manager 1 at Washington Corrections Center (WCC). This is position will work M-F 800 am to 1630 pm. As a leader, you will be expected to inspire, motivate and gain the trust and respect of your staff and peers, and create an environment where all employees feel valued and respected, empowering them to achieve success. Duties Under the direction of the Health Services Manager 3, this position is responsible for working with the Health Services Management Team to provide leadership in the administration, delivery, and supervision of professional health care services including emergency care, nursing, dental, mental health, medical records and support services. Will also serve as the Health Services Manager over the Larch Corrections Center a work camp located in Yacolt WA. (which will require travel). Plan, lead, organize and manage the work performed in the Health Services unit. Assure appropriate and optimum use of the agency's resources. Enhance the effectiveness of employees through timely employee evaluations and professional development opportunities. Support effective communication throughout the facility and Health Services leadership. Support the agency's mission and goal for a diverse workforce. Monitor and ensure compliance with standards for health care, DOC policies and HR/collective bargaining process. Develop and implement health care policies and practices within all federal, state, and agency health care regulatory requirements across the facility. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree involving major study in Health Services; Business Administration or related field of study or one (1) year of supervisory or management experience in an acute or ambulatory health care system. Two years of managing/overseeing a health care delivery system to include inpatient or outpatient care. Preferred: Master's degree involving major study in Health Services Administration or Master in Business Administration; Masters in Public Administration with a Health Services Administration concentration. ACHE certification a plus. Prior health care administration in an adult correctional environment. |
