| Description: | Duties: Provides mental health services to offenders, including crisis intervention, psychological screening, psychological assessment and evaluation (psychological test administration, scoring, interpretation and report writing), individual and group therapy, treatment planning and psychoeducational services, and discharge planning, under the supervision and direction of Psychologist II/Psychology Associate II. Screens, tracks, and monitors offenders with mental health service needs, in General Population and Special Housing. Involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of mental health services, policies and programs at the facility. May be involved with special units or programs. May serve as consultant to administration, security and treatment staff. Provides in-service training. Qualifications: Relevant professional experience under supervision to include demonstrated skills in psychological assessment including diagnostic interviewing, intelligence and personality testing and interpretation, and report writing. Demonstrated knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory, and ethical practices. Training and expertise in psychotherapy for the treatment of mental disorders and the ability to develop intervention and treatment plans and to provide individual and group counseling or therapy. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Experience in correctional, forensic, mental health or other institutional setting preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Graduate degree in Psychology (clinical or counseling) or equivalent degree in related human services field from a regionally accredited university or college preferred.
