| Description: | Continuous Service Incentive Plan for Correctional Security Officers up to $5000.00. (Payable in four installments of $1250 each after 6, 12, 18 & 24 month period) Correctional officers are uniformed staff with responsibilities related to maintaining the security, control, and custody of inmates in adult correctional facilities. Applicants must: • Be 21 years of age • Possess a high school diploma or GED • Possess a valid driver’s license • Have never been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor for domestic violence. A departmental physical examination is required prior to entering on duty. Have skills/abilities in English usage; basic math; ability to evaluate situations and adopt effective courses of action; exercise alertness and act quickly and effectively in an emergency situation; follow oral and written instructions; gather and organize facts and write complete and concise reports; communicate effectively; and establish and maintain effective working relationships. |

Correctional security officers begin employment as Level 1 (Correctional Officer Cadet) with a monthly salary of $2,050.40 and are promoted to Level II (Correctional Officer 1) at a monthly salary of $2, 152.93 upon successful completion of the first six months of a one year probationary period and all training requirements. After one year at Level II, officers are then promoted to Level III (Correctional Security Corporal) at a monthly salary of $2, 296.26.
