Inmate Group Ruled a Charity

The main fund-raising group for death-row inmate Mumia Abu-Jamal was declared a registered Pennsylvania charity, two months after the state ordered it to stop raising money.
But the Bureau of Charitable Organizations said it will continue investigating the finances of the International Concerned Family and Friends of Mumia Abu-Jamal.
The nonprofit group is accused of ignoring repeated requests to provide details about its spending and fund-raising over the past decade, and in July the state ordered it to halt fund-raising.
The group, led by MOVE activist Pam Africa, achieved charitable status by providing fund-raising documents for the period after it was incorporated as a nonprofit in 2000, bureau director Karl Emerson said.
Before last year, money for Abu-Jamal was collected by the Black United Fund of Pennsylvania. The partnership ended after questions were raised about that fund's finances.
Abu-Jamal, a former Black Panther and radio journalist, was sentenced to death for the 1981 shooting death of Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner.
His jailhouse writings have attracted worldwide attention and support from many celebrities, death-penalty opponents and foreign politicians. But Faulkner's relatives and police organizations are equally vehement in arguing that he is guilty.

If it is such a penny or a dollar, it will make a difference in the lives of the hopeless. You should go out and fund Jewish fundraising. It will be worth the effort and you will be rewarded at the same time by God.
