Authorities in Johnson County, Kansas, said they prevented an escape attempt at the Juvenile Detention Center recently, according to KMBC 9 News.
Officers believe the two inmates used a towel hook to scratch loose the mortar in their cell. They almost managed to remove a cinder block before getting caught, officers said.
The two teenagers were charged with attempted escape, KMBC reported.
