| Manhunt Continues for Wis. Jail Escapee |

Five days and there is still no sign of escaped killer DeCarlos Young and his accomplice, Albertina Jackson. No leads have led to their arrest yet, but changes are already in place at the jail to make sure no one can follow in their footsteps. Almost a week since their escape, the location of Young, Jackson, and their two children, Deanna and Davontie, remains a mystery. But, there is movement on how to prevent another similar slip. 'In the last 24 hours, security has been beefed-up. We have six new spot welds on every single window (and) we have new break off screws. It's now impossible to get through that new area,' said Milwaukee County supervisor Jim McGuigan, District 6. Investigators believe Jackson removed enough screws with a specialized tool to loosen the glass in the visiting area and allow Young to escape. The chairman of the County Board's Judiciary Committee said there will be no repeat performance. 'This is never going to happen again through this exit. It's simply not an exit anymore, unless somebody can get up there with power tools for six hours and not make any noise, this isn't going to happen again,' McGuigan said. The silver lining of this whole affair may be it pointed out a vulnerability in jails around the country, preventing escapes elsewhere, WISN 12 News reporter Nick Bohr said. 'Now we're making changes, other places across the country will be following suit,' McGuigan said. The Sheriff's Department is hoping to resume family visits to inmates next Wednesday. Investigators are hoping to be able to announce some arrests today. |
