Allendale prison still locked down 3 weeks after shooting

The state prison in Allendale County (S.C.) remained in lockdown last week more than three weeks after two inmates were shot in their cells, Corrections Department director Jon Ozmint said.
Prison officials immediately confined inmates to their cells after the April 18 shooting.
They've remained there while investigators and state agents try to figure out who did it and whether the weapon was an actual gun, or something made by the prisoner himself.
Ozmint has said the gun might have been disposed of or taken apart before investigators can find it.
The prison at Allendale Correctional Institution will remain on lockdown indefinitely, Ozmint said.
Officials have had to move a facility that makes janitorial supplies to another prison because the inmates aren't being allowed out of their cells to work, Ozmint said.
State Law Enforcement Division agents are helping prison officials investigate the shooting at the medium security prison.
The inmates suffered minor injuries and are out of the hospital, Ozmint said.
