|Sheriff announces promotions|
ADRIAN, Mich. -
The restructuring at the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department continues, with Sheriff Jack Welsh announcing a series of promotions and the creation of an inmate transport team.
— Lt. Mike Creswell, a 27-year department veteran, will be promoted to captain effective Sept. 13, according to a news release announcing the changes. Currently the road patrol commander and emergency response team commander, Creswell came up through the ranks of the sheriff’s department and has been a K-9 handler for a number of years. He will continue as road patrol commander until a replacement is promoted.
— Animal control officer Ralph Morgan will be promoted to corrections officer effective Sept. 13. He has been a part-time animal control officer for the past three years and has been a reserve with the department.
— Deputy Kevin Greca, a 13-year veteran of the department, will be promoted to detective effective Sept. 13. Greca has served as a marine patrol deputy, corrections officer, motorcycle and drug team member, and road patrol deputy.
— Two dispatchers have been promoted to shift leader in central dispatch positions. Brett Holubik, who is also the Deerfield Township fire chief, is an 18-year veteran of the department. Andrea Cleveland is a nine-year veteran.
— Corrections officer Jane Cattell has been transferred to the newly formed inmate transport team. A nine-year veteran, Cattell has served as a reserve deputy, mounted division deputy, dispatcher and corrections officer. She is also a member of the Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.
Corrections officer John Blackman has also been transferred to the inmate transport team. Blackman, who has been with the department one year, previously worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections, where he gained experience in inmate transport.
