| Arizona Corrections Officer Collecting Donations for Special Olympics |

Law enforcement officials on the northwest side are joining others throughout the state March 27 by hosting a "Cop on Top" event. Officers will be on lifts, vehicles or ladder trucks above entrances to Safeway stores asking patrons for donations. The event is part of the Arizona Law Enforcement Torch Run contingent to raise funds for and awareness of Special Olympics Arizona. On the northwest side, they'll be at the Safeway store at 9705 N. Thornydale Road from 6 a.m. until approximately 10 p.m. Officials from the Arizona Department of Corrections, Marana and Oro Valley police departments and the Department of Public Safety will participate.
