Officials say a Jackson Police Department officer sustained minor injuries in a search for an inmate who absconded from the Hinds County Restitution Center Thursday. Hinds County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jeffrey Scott said officials from the sheriff’s department and the Department of Corrections are working to find 24-year-old Eddie Charles Milligan this afternoon after he walked away from the center on Gallatin Street around 1:30 p.m. The JPD officer was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment, Scott said.
