| Former CO sentenced to prison for smuggling cell phone |

TRENTON, NJ — A former corrections officer from Browns Mills was sentenced to prison on July 13 for smuggling a cell phone to an inmate at the state’s correction facility for sex offenders, Attorney General Jeffrey S. Chiesa announced. According to the attorney general’s office, Ardones V. Livingston, 55, and fellow former corrections officer Latasha Y. Walker, 44, of Rahway, were found guilty on June 20 of conspiring to smuggle the cell phone to an inmate at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Avenel. Livingston was convicted of second degree conspiracy and third degree bribery, officials said, and sentenced to five years in state prison. He received a five-year sentence on the conspiracy charge and a concurrent three-year sentence on the bribery charge, officials said. Walker was convicted of second-degree conspiracy and sentenced to five years in state prison, officials said. Livingston and Walker are permanently barred from public employment in New Jersey, officials said, and Livingston, who had been employed by the state for 10 years, was forced to forfeit his entire state pension.
